Position : Human Resources Manager
Location : Burbank, CA (On-site preferred)
Reports to : Executive Leadership Team
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee all aspects of human capital management across our growing team. The ideal candidate is a certified HR leader with deep expertise in BambooHR, experience with PEO operations (preferably BBSI), and a solid background in prevailing wage and government-funded project compliance. Youll play a key role in recruiting, retaining, and supporting talent while ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems that support company goals and values.
- Serve as the primary administrator of BambooHR, customizing workflows, managing reporting, and training users.
- Partner with BBSI (PEO provider) on payroll, benefits, workers comp, and risk / compliance services.
- Ensure full compliance with prevailing wage requirements, including certified payroll, labor classifications, and DIR reporting for government contracts.
- Guide managers and employees through performance management, corrective actions, and career development.
- Conduct investigations related to employee concerns and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Stay current on California employment laws and advise leadership on risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate employee engagement, safety training, and retention programs.
- Oversee internal communications, employee handbooks, and HR data integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
58 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification required.Expert-level proficiency in BambooHR (ATS, performance, workflows, reporting).Experience working with BBSI or similar PEO for payroll and HR support services.Hands-on experience with prevailing wage laws, certified payroll reporting, and government job compliance.Strong understanding of California employment law, wage and hour regulations, and safety practices.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Bilingual English / SpanishWhy Join Maintco?
