Drafter II $24-$27 / hr Pomona, CAPosition SummaryThe Drafter II works under supervision of CNC Programming Supervisor preparing technical and mechanical drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a specific part of machinery and mechanical devices and the manufacture of equipment.
May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Perform a modeling, drafting or Engineering Change Order process with minimum errors.
Knowledge of Mastercam is a plus. Have knowledge of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing and manufacturing processes. ResponsibilitiesPrepare technical drawings and resolve associated mechanical and fabrication problemsMay participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or partsPerform a modeling, drafting, or Engineering Change Order (ECO) process with minimum errorsPrepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices.
Indicate dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements on drawings.Create to scale CAD drawings from sketches or partsMaintain drawing databasePerform cost analysis based on manufacturing capability and design qualityRequirementsHigh school diploma or Associate's degree in drafting or Completion of a technical school drafting program-Or 2 years experience using CAD systems preferredOr Combination of education and equivalent experience using CAD systemsExperience in SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or Inventor is a plusUnderstanding of MasterCam is a plusKnowledge of traditional drafting techniques, and mechanical drafting-Able to interact with Customer Service and Fab departments to create drawings from DXF or DWG filesAbility to use tables, calculators and computersProficient in using a computer including Word, Excel, and OutlookKnowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technologyCapable of successfully working on multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadline schedulesAbility to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behaviorPossess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple tasks and consistently meet all deadlines-Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster cooperative relationships and credibility at all levels of the organization
