Position Summary :
Oversee day-to-day operations for one or more New Heights residential settings. Provide hands-on leadership for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensure safe, high-quality supports, maintain staffing coverage, and keep documentation compliant with HCBS / CMS, Recipient Rights, payer, and agency standards. Serve as first point of contact for call-offs, emergencies, and schedule changes while fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and supervision
- Provide on-site leadership, coaching, and real-time support to DSPs.
- Ensure coverage for all shifts; build and manage daily / weekly schedules and arrange fill-ins as needed.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and adherence to policies; provide feedback and escalation as appropriate.
- Serve as the liaison between DSPs and leadership to keep expectations clear and issues resolved quickly.
Individual Support and Compliance
Promote a safe, respectful living environment that honors choice, dignity, privacy, and independence.Ensure supports follow each person’s Individual Plan of Service (IPOS) and any Safety / Behavior Plans; reinforce least-restrictive, trauma-informed approaches.Verify accurate, timely documentation in the approved system (e.g., EVV / HHAeXchange), including shift notes, progress toward goals, and incidents.Oversee medication reminder practices per policy (no administration unless specifically authorized and trained).Maintain Recipient Rights, HIPAA, infection control, and all HCBS / CMS, payer, and agency requirements; lead safety checks and drills as assigned.Scheduling and Operations :
Responsible for the master schedule for assigned locations; respond promptly to absences and emergencies by securing coverage or filling in.Track hours to manage overtime and remain within budgeted coverage.Assist with onboarding and training of new staff, including policy orientation, documentation standards, and routine care practices.Maintain site readiness : supplies, cleanliness expectations, safety logs, and basic facilities coordination.Communication and Reporting :
Participate in leadership meetings and individual reviews as requested.Communicate schedule updates, support needs, incidents, and staffing changes to leadership in a timely, solution-focused manner.Support implementation and consistency of policies, procedures, and performance standards.Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED, required; Associate’s in Human Services or related field, preferred.Minimum 2 years’ experience in direct support or residential / community services; prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.At least 18 years of age.Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation; auto insurance if driving individuals.Able to pass background checks and screenings per agency / payer requirements.Current CPR / First Aid and Recipient Rights (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe).Strong organization, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure.Compensation and Benefits :
$18.50 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.Eligible for overtime and holiday differential.May be eligible for health benefits per company policy.Work schedule :
