Our client is hiring a Configuration Manager - Product for a 6 month contract to hire. They have recently made a significant investment in their PLM / PDM systems. As the company has been experiencing significant growth it is important that they get these processes and tools in place to scale properly with the company as it continues to mature. This role, in collaboration with two other Configuration Managers and various VP's, will be responsible for defining and upholding standards for core product definition, audit compliance, and part traceability. They will be responsible for aggregating this data and sharing that with the Configuration Manger over CAD Admin and the Systems Architect to execute the configurations.
This person is responsible for getting the source of truth stood up and figured out. This role needs to bleed into the standard configuration management space of audit compliance where they have different types of products that need to have different types of access controls. Access controls for a commercial ship compared to a US military or Japanese sold ship are all different, but they need to point to the same baseline CAD file inside of NX. They need to be able to help orchestrate things like this in a way that is scalable and works with the manufacturing, engineering, sales, and services orgs. They should be able to communicate this theory and outline that based off of customer inputs internal to client and understand what needs to be communicated to the CAD Admin and solutions architect to put those into action via configuration of the PLM / PDM systems. They are generally one standard deviation away from actual back end work.
Position Summary
We are hiring a Configuration Manager focused on core product definition, audit compliance, and part traceability across programs. This individual is responsible for maintaining the structured relationships between parts, subassemblies, and top-level platforms-ensuring version-controlled consistency across our engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment environments.
This role acts as the central authority for how items (designed or procured) are reused, revised, and controlled across multiple programs. The Configuration Manager - Product will work closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and program leadership to ensure that product configurations are accurate, auditable, and aligned to contract and regulatory expectations. This is the control point for configuration management. It is not a tooling-heavy role but rather one that requires high attention to detail, fluency in product structure, and confidence enforcing standards across teams.
