Purpose
The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) delivers multi-platform software suites to government customers for numerous applications, from real-time data-intensive network operations to standalone remote field systems, in both Linux and Windows environments. We are seeking a software developer with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, databases, and data structures.
Responsibilities
Performs implementation from detailed design.
Designs and implements bug fixes.
Performs unit, regression, and integration testing as appropriate.
Work as part of a team to provide detailed designs for software.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other applied sciences.
Experience with Bash, Python, or C++.
Experience with software or system test development and execution.
Demonstrated ability to design, develop, evaluate, and support the development of large and complex systems.
Experience with various testing activities including test design, documentation, risk analysis, test automation, test results and reporting
AWS Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, engineering management, engineering mechanics, operations research, industrial engineering, or related field.
Experience with software development in Python or Javascript.
Experience with Linux.
Scripting with Python and bash.
Full stack web development.
Experience with CI / CD pipelines.
Experience with AWS cloud deployment, testing, and monitoring.
Experience with GNSS observation and navigation data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills within a team environment including software developers.
Previous or current eligibility for access to classified information.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a 3.2 in major coursework.

$88,500-$120,000+ / negotiable depending on qualifications
