Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive MEP Project Manager to join our Owner’s Representative team supporting a high-profile, multi-year federal renovation project . This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and a strong background in federal construction protocols. You’ll serve as the client’s trusted advisor, ensuring that all MEP components are designed, coordinated, and executed to meet stringent government standards, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary MEP liaison between the federal client, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee all phases of MEP scope including design review, value engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, sustainability goals, and security requirements.
- Review and validate MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals for constructability and coordination.
- Monitor field installation and conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to plans.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and punch lists related to MEP systems.
- Lead commissioning activities and ensure proper turnover of systems to operations.
- Provide technical guidance and risk mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain detailed documentation and reporting for federal audits and project transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field; PE license preferred.8+ years of MEP project management experience, with at least 3 years in an Owner’s Rep or CM role.Prior experience on federal or government renovation projects (GSA, DoD, VA, etc.) strongly preferred.Deep understanding of MEP systems integration, building codes, and federal construction standards.Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).Additional Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required due to federal project clearance.Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.Willingness to work on-site and attend regular field meetings.
