Lifecycle Construction Services, LLC , is a full-service Design-Build firm specializing in providing design and construction solutions for federal agencies across the country. We are part of a rapidly growing family of construction and real estate development companies, including Rappahannock Development Group , which acquires strategically located undeveloped land, secures zoning and construction entitlements, and delivers finished residential lots to national and regional homebuilders.
We are seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our accounting team. This position plays a key role in managing high-volume AP operations in a federal compliance-driven environment, supporting both our construction and land development operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process AP and AR invoices, ensuring accuracy in coding (project, vendor, GL account, cost code, purchase order, subcontract), proper approvals, and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Accounting Manager to ensure proper approvals and compliance with subcontract / purchase order requirements and accounting procedures.
- Work closely with Compliance Manager to support adherence to complex federal compliance requirements
- Serve as a first point of contact for vendors and subcontractors regarding invoice and payment inquiries.
- Prepare and execute biweekly check runs.
- Maintain and organize electronic documentation for invoices, payments, tax documents, and expense receipts.
- Perform daily reconciliation of multiple cash accounts.
- Process credit card transactions weekly in Acumatica, matching transactions to receipts and ensuring accurate coding.
- Reconcile AP control accounts and assist with month-end close.
- Recommend and support process improvements and workflow enhancements within the AP function.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in accounts payable; construction or federal contracting experience a plus but not required.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in high-volume environments.Demonstrated ability to learn and apply complex regulatory and compliance requirements.Experience working cross-functionally with project teams and external vendors / subcontractors.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (experience with Acumatica or similar construction accounting software is a plus).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
