Position Summary
The Field Administrator will support daily field operations across active construction sites in the New York metropolitan area. This position involves field reporting, documentation management, coordination with engineering staff, oversight of progress tracking using digital tools, and supporting office activities across all project disciplines.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Visit active job sites throughout the New York metropolitan area to support ongoing construction activities
- Perform daily field reporting and construction oversight using electronic document management systems
- Take, label, and archive job progress photographs for documentation and reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized field documentation throughout all project phases
- Perform general field-level administrative tasks and provide support to technical teams
- Coordinate with engineers and other professional staff to achieve project goals
- Adapt to new assignments with guidance and follow standard procedures
- Support office staff across all project disciplines including office, field, engineering, and quality administration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working on active construction sites
- Familiarity with engineering and construction industry standards, documentation practices, and terminology
- Familiar with project management and design workflow tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Procore
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with on-site and office teams
- Highly organized with strong time management capabilities
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to navigate construction sites
(standing, climbing, stooping, crouching) - Willingness to work outdoors and conduct field surveys
- Comfortable in all weather conditions and high-noise environments

- Amtrak Track Training
- CSX Track Training
- MTA Track Training
- OSHA 30
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with computer work at a desk.
- May require occasional visits to project sites for measurements, coordination, or inspections.
- Frequent sitting, reading, and use of computer keyboards and monitors.
- Occasional standing, walking, or climbing during field visits.
