We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented IT Service Field Technician to join our dynamic team. As an IT Service Field Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services to our clients.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' IT systems and infrastructure, contributing to their overall satisfaction and productivity.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Travel to client locations to provide on-site technical support for hardware, software, network, and infrastructure-related issues, including but not limited to : PC's, phones, A / V, POS systems, printers and scanners) in accordance with department standards.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their IT requirements and provide suitable solutions and recommendations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and security enhancements.
- Set up and troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Assist in data backup and recovery processes to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity.
- Provide technical training and guidance to end-users, ensuring they can effectively utilize IT systems and tools.
- Document all service activities, including problem descriptions, solutions applied, and troubleshooting steps, for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide status updates, explain technical concepts in a clear manner, and manage expectations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and provide comprehensive solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance your technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
- Proven experience as an IT technician, help desk technician, or similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and network components.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their configurations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues independently.
- Knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effectively interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments and priorities.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Physical ability to lift and transport computer equipment and perform tasks in various environments.
- Prior experience in a field technician or on-site support role.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices.
- Experience with cloud-based services and virtualization technologies.
