Description :
We're currently searching for Mobile LiDAR Data Technicians in our N. Carolina or S. Carolina offices. Ideally, individuals will sit out of Wilmington but we can support individuals throughout the Carolinas.
The successful candidate will be part of a team conducting registration and extraction of LiDAR data using RiProcess, Leica Cyclone, Microstation, TopoDOT, and other software.

Responsabilities :
- Perform mobile LiDAR processing
- Perform mobile Mapping Extraction
- Demonstrates team work and maintains open communication between the field, office, and client
- Function as team lead for project managers and other Laser Scan team members in LiDAR registration and extraction
- Develop and maintain mobile LiDAR processing workflows
- Training technicians in mobile LiDAR processing and collection best practices
- Assist in mobile LiDAR collection efforts
- Create and review digital models and mapping of LiDAR and other types of traditional survey projects
- Processing Survey data
- Assist with client interactions to help meet all scope of work requirements
- Assist with proposal writing and mobile LiDAR estimates
- Observe and comply with all company and related safety rules
- Follows state specific standards of practice to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications
- Assist with writing surveying reports summarizing site inspection and survey findings and conclusions; generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, technical drawings, 2D / 3D illustrations, and reports
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks
- Perform LiDAR related instruments calibrations in order to maintain their accuracy
- Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activities
- Remain current in latest LiDAR knowledge, techniques, and practices
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 Years of experience with Mobile LiDAR Surveys
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a diverse team
- A working knowledge of geomatics, land surveying mathematics, land surveying practices, and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Overall knowledge of conducting field operations
- Experience with TopoDot, TerraSolid softwares preferred
- Experience in Bentley software preferred
- Experience with Leica Software preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug / alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications :
- A.S. or B.S. degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related areas
- ASPRS Certified Mapping Scientist Lidar or ASPRS Certified Lidar Technologist Lidar
