Role Description :

Canyon’s Construction is looking for an eager, professional, and organized Construction Assistant. This person will support the Craftsman in constructing beautiful home renovations, remodels and new constructions, as well as assist with any administrative field requirements the Craftsman may have.

Ideally, they are familiar with building codes and safety standards as they relate to residential remodel, renovation and / or new construction, and have the desire to learn and grow into a more senior role.

This individual is a knowledgeable, competent tradesperson, and is able to assist in the completion of any framing, trim, or other carpentry tasks as assigned.

This ideal candidate possesses excellent attention to detail with the desire to grow and develop their carpentry skills. Team collaboration, communication, and support are paramount to the company culture at Canyon’s Construction, and we believe that a project’s success is dependent on our success as a high-functioning team.

No two days are the same, therefore an adaptable personality is a must, along with a friendly, professional, and accountable attitude defines success.

Role & Responsibilities :

  • Execute high-quality installations under the direction of the Craftsman, including drywall, framing, flooring, cabinetry, etc.
  • Follow order of operations and general jobsite safety regulations.
  • Support the Craftsman in interpreting architectural and structural plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate daily and weekly material and installation needs to the Craftsman and Project Manager.
  • Oversee weekly / daily on-site material deliveries, communicating any issues, complications or special circumstances.
  • Assist with building inspections, as needed.
  • Coordinate with onsite subcontractor teams, as needed.
  • Ensure project site, installations, and all resources are meeting quality standards.
  • Assist Craftsman to successfully navigate software updates, notes, and expectations for project success.
  • Embody Canyon’s Construction’s core values and quality assurance standards.

Position Requirements :

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience - residential / commercial remodel, renovation and new builds.
  • 2-3 years of installation experience.
  • 2-3 years experience professional framing experience.
  • Proof of completed ICC National Building Standard C Test (if not completed within the last 1 year, required to complete within 6 months of employment).
  • Technical proficiency in various Project Management platforms and Google Workspace, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Proactive and effective organization and time / schedule management skills.
  • Must be team-oriented and successfully work alongside both internal and external teams to achieve first-rate project outcomes and first-rate success.
