Overview :

Element has an opportunity for a Chemist who will be primarily responsible for performing analytical analysis of various metal alloys, to determine conformance to governing specifications

This is a 2nd shift position : 11am - 7 : 30pm M-F

Responsibilities :

  • Operate analytical laboratory equipment to determine composition of various metallic alloys
  • Report abnormal findings to laboratory management and perform preventive measures to prevent downtime of power and desalination systems
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of technical work and maintain equipment according to schedule
  • Assist with testing / analysis of non-routine samples as directed
  • Maintain laboratory equipment

Skills / Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's in Chemistry Required
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Inert Gas Fusion (IGF), and Inductively-coupled plasma (ICP)
  • Minimum 3 yrs experience working in a lab setting as a Chemist
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work required to perform duties
  • Strong and determined quality focus with indefatigable determination to get the job done under the most challenging conditions
  • Exceptional communication skills and good reporting skills
