This role requires in-office presence of 5 days per week.

Your Career

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Process Quality Engineer to own factory process and quality—driving stability, compliance, and continuous improvement. Based on-site at our Austin, Texas facility, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for process and quality, optimizing workflows, resolving issues in real time, and delivering measurable improvements.

In this role, you'll partner with EMS / CM sites, suppliers, test engineering, and design teams to keep builds on schedule and to the highest standards—at Palo Alto Networks, where innovation, integrity, and quality fuel everything we deliver worldwide.

Your Impact

  • Production & Process Improvement

Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improve workflows, and maintain process control for stability.

  • Quality Engineering & RCA
  • Lead RCA investigations, implement CAPA, and apply tools such as FMEA, 8D, and 5-Whys to sustain continuous improvement.

  • Testing, Inspection & Compliance
  • Standardize processes across sites, escalate quality issues, ensure proper CAPA implementation, and drive top-issue reduction.

  • Quality Metrics & Reporting
  • Own metrics like FPY, Bonepile, and CAPA effectiveness; provide clear, accurate reporting to leadership.

  • Collaboration & Escalation
  • Act as the escalation point for process and quality issues, aligning stakeholders across design, production, and suppliers.

    Your Experience

  • 7+ years in manufacturing / process / quality engineering within high-mix, high-reliability hardware environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes, test and inspection methodologies, and process controls.
  • Proven expertise in RCA, CAPA, and quality engineering methodologies; hands-on with Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and 8D.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to simplify complex data for fast decisions and influence across suppliers, factories, and design / test teams.
  • Comfortable working independently as the primary on-site point of contact, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • The Team

Our Manufacturing team has extensive business and project-management experience in the contract manufacturing industry. This team has a dedication to, and a consistent track record of, success in all aspects of supply-chain and project management. Our Manufacturing team leadership establishes clear objectives, defining and implementing profit improvement and profiling inventory management, valuation, and lead-time improvement programs. If you have a passion for and knowledge and experience with extensive end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain, we want you!
