Description
The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for Swim Instructors at our Heritage Oaks pool. Swim Instructors are responsible for pool area safety, enforces pool rules, administers first aid, sets up and takes down equipment, and performs pool maintenance.
This program will run from April 2024 to June 2024. Opportunities may be available at our Fullerton or Yorba Linda pools after June 2024.
We are looking for staff that can work Monday thru Thursday from 4pm to 8pm or a combination of those times.

Responsibilities :
- Provide safe and effective swim instruction to members and participants.
- Actively promote the swim program.
- Record swim lesson information and attendance.
- Perform pool safety duties as needed.
- Ensure safe environment by performing routine pool maintenance tasks and operations.
- Report all safety-related incidents promptly and accurately.
- Ensure quality member service to all members and participants at all times.
- Follow and enforce safety standards and all other policies and procedures.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to apply :
- 15 and a half years of age or older.
- Completion of Lifeguard Certification, which the YMCA provides.
- First Aid, AED and CPR certification. YMCA FREE Certifications!
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds.
- Available to work shifts.
- Physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous.
