The Advertising Manager will be responsible for traditional advertising media for the Rays and associated brands, specifically focused on TV, radio, OOH, large-scale branding, trade contracts, and gameday / event responsibilities as needed. Ideal candidate should be able to leverage data and advertising experience to define target audiences, develop strategies regarding the team’s annual marketing mix as it relates to advertising media, manage respective campaigns, and summarize feedback regarding campaign effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with key media partners, consultants, and other advertising vendors.
- Manage marketing mix as it relates to advertising media, specifically using data to drive strategy and results (includes but not limited to OOH, TV, radio, print, OTT / CTV, digital audio, grassroots, in-broadcast, and physical branding).
- Lead creative storytelling via advertising media through close collaboration with creative team and consultants (includes but not limited to ideation and creation of video, static, OOH, etc).
- Oversee advertising budget(s) and associated cash advertising spend, invoicing, etc.
- Negotiate and execute trade contracts with media partners and other vendors.
- Ensure proper and timely trafficking of ads with respective campaigns.
- Facilitate donation requests from media partners and other promotional initiatives, as needed
- Assist with media partner activations around games including : interviews, remote broadcasts, etc.
- Serve as marketing liaison with Rays communications and public affairs team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university.4+ years in advertising with an emphasis on traditional advertising.Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making are required.Strong copywriter with experience drafting copy for a variety of ads.Strong writing and editing experience.Strong organizational and communication skills.Basic Photoshop skills.Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience analyzing and synthesizing large data sets.Experience interacting and utilizing BI / Analytics tools such as CDPs, Tableau, Looker, etc.Experience managing external vendors.Independent worker with close attention to detail.Must thrive in a highly collaborative and fast paced work environment.
