Job Title : Software Engineer

Job Location : Austin, Texas (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain DPS License to Carry System and related law-enforcement applications, with over 8+ years of LTC Application Development and support experience

Provide full-stack engineering support, including database design, application development, integration, and performance optimization.

Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver timely resolutions.

Ensure compliance with public-safety data standards, security requirements, and audit controls.

Collaborate with DPS stakeholders, technical teams, and law-enforcement personnel to gather requirements and implement improvements.

Support releases, deployments, and system updates in secure environments.

Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Participate in architectural discussions and recommend system enhancements.

Required Skills & Technologies

Experience with enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)

Experience with .NET, Java, or other technologies used in DPS systems

Familiarity with CJIS security requirements

Experience delivering secure, high-availability solutions for government agencies
