Job descriptionDaily posting of charges and payments Scanning of fee slips and EOBs, deposits, claims submissions Follow up on accounts and claims when no response from the insurance carriers has been received Gather information regarding other pending claims on account and check status of claims utilizing the websites for various insurance companies Research, identify, and rectify any special circumstances or denial trends affecting resolution of patient account and provide the finds to the practice manager Identify and create batches for necessary billing adjustments Review statements and communicate the specific manner in which the claim processed with patients Contact insurance companies by phone, email, fax, and written correspondence to resolve issues preventing claims from being processed correctly, including verifying benefits and eligibility dates Working various denials from insurances including coverage in question, medical necessity, bundling, non-covered procedures, incorrect coding, credentialing, etc High School or GED required. College degree preferred. 1-2 years of medical / healthcare billing experience Experienced in submitting claims, insurance companies follow ups, collecting payments Must have experience working with CPT codes Familiarity with electronic billing system, EMR. Experienced in handling benefit verification, provider portal, clearinghouse Ability to maintain and document claim records with accuracy This temporary position does not offer benefits.
