Duration : 06 Months contract on W2
Description :
This role is to cover a leave for a full time employee and is estimated to be 6 months, but the timeline can change based on business needs. The manager is also open considering someone on a part time basis, if they have the required skill set.
MUST HAVES :
- SAP Experience
- Supply chain experience
Department builds radios, circuitry purchasing, transistors.
Onsite role. Mon-Fri 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm.
Electronic purchasing helpful
Circuit board experience would be helpful
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities :
As a Buyer, you will :
Analyze, understand, and convert MRP messages to raw material purchase orders and plans to meet production / forecast demandExperience using SAPIdentify and react to short term material plans that do not meet customer requirementsInterface with production, sales, purchasing, and suppliers in order to schedule purchase orders of raw materialHost supplier calls and in-person meetings when supplier performance is not meeting expectationsNeed good strategic thinking skills to predict issues and respond before there is downtime due to shortagesWork with Quality and Supplier Quality to drive resolution on manufacturing material quality and supply issuesManage safety stock levels to minimize downtime due to shortages and not overly inflate inventoryImplement and manage supplier VMI programs including EDI to reduce inventoryAssist with cycle counting and yearly physical inventoryQualifications / Requirements :
High School Diploma / GEDMinimum of 3 years of purchasing experience (electronics industry) with material planning experience using MRP, ERPDesired Characteristics :
More years of electronic component buying experience is a plusPrior experience in production control or planning, sourcing and / or material control environment (electronics industry preferred)Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work prioritiesStrong Microsoft Excel skills – PivotTable, VLOOKUP, etc.APICS CPIM and or ISM CPM CertificationStrong analytical and organizational skillsDemonstrated oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skills.The hourly rate for this position is $24.47 per hour.
