Job Description
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Syracuse University is recruiting a full-time non-tenure-track clinical teaching faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
This is a full-time 12-month faculty position with eligibility for promotion.
The position also requires the teaching of one didactic course per year. The employee will participate in departmental meetings and duties, as well as clinical faculty meetings and may perform other duties as assigned by the clinic director.
This position requires some limited evening hours.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES : Teach and clinically supervise undergraduate and graduate students in speech-language pathology, teach undergraduate or graduate courses as assigned and provide service to the department and university.
Qualifications
- Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Current possession of or eligibility for a New York State License in Speech-Language Pathology
- At least nine months of clinical practice as a speech-language pathologist post-certification,
- Clinical experience in assessment and treatment of early childhood and / or school-age communication disorders
- A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and clinical supervision.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Experience working with children who have speech and language disorders required, particularly pre-school and school-age children.
- Experience in one or more areas including AAC, autism, speech sound disorders, language disorders, literacy and / or voice disorders desired.
- Experience supervising students is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform speech-language treatment / evaluation sessions in the Gebbie Clinic.
- Teach undergraduate or graduate courses as assigned and provide service to the department and university.
- Supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in the Gebbie clinic.
