About This Opportunity

Rockford Construction has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager based in the Grand Rapids, Michigan office. As an IT Project Manager you will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the completion of specific tasks and projects for Rockford. In addition, this role is responsible to identify and document the current and future state of business processes. Ensure proper requirements are documented for projects and enhancement requests. The IT Project Manager will also assist in process improvement and be the champion for those improvements.

Key Deliverables

  • Plan and implement projects, help define the project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Create schedule and project timelines that are achievable and track deliverables.
  • Report on all active projects which will be presented to the Technology Steering Committee.
  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
  • Determine and document use case requirements for business processes and abide by those requirements for future enhancement and projects.
  • Act as an information source for active projects and communicator between business branches, as it relates to projects and their completion.
  • Manage the team of developers to enhance the work within software solutions.
  • Gather and document business and software requirements using interviews, questionnaires, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios or other methods.
  • Partner with software developers and technical resources to gather and document functional requirements.
  • Assist in conducting research on products to meet agreed upon requirements and support purchasing efforts.
  • Assist with interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and perform user acceptance and pilot group testing to ensure software solutions meet business needs and formal requirements.
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field.
  • A minimum of 7 years in a technology-driven role.
  • Practical application ability with Microsoft Office and Visio.
  • Detailed, analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • The ability to maintain organization, prioritizing tasks and responsibilities so meet deadlines.
  • Experienced in user testing and project management.

    Environmental Factors

    The work environment for this position is a typical office environment with frequent visits to construction sites. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position.

    Visits to construction sites may involve varied amounts of travel and overnight stays. Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subject to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including proper footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection (if applicable), high visibility vest and / or other special clothing shall be worn on construction sites at all times unless otherwise specified.
