Overview
This role is with Bowman Williams within a growing Managed Services Provider. This position is part of our internal project and escalation team, giving you the chance to work on challenging cloud, server, and Microsoft 365 initiatives while resolving escalated issues for multiple clients. This isn't a typical sysadmin role; you'll balance project-based work with high-level support and gain exposure to Azure, Windows Server, and enterprise Microsoft 365 environments. The base pay range is $95,000.00 / yr - $105,000.00 / yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
What You'll Do
- Manage a mix of escalated support and project work across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server environments
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure for security, performance, and scalability
- Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and enterprise email systems
- Handle user accounts, permissions, and security in Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and on-prem AD
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server hardware and software, including DNS, DHCP, and GPOs
- Implement and enforce security and identity management policies
- Conduct server audits and ensure compliance with standards and configurations
- Provide escalated troubleshooting for internal users and clients
- Manage backup and disaster recovery operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure and workflows
- Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices
What We're Looking For
3+ years as a Windows System Administrator or Microsoft Cloud administratorAt least 1 year working for a Managed Services ProviderStrong knowledge of Windows Server (2016–2025), Active Directory, and PowerShell scriptingProven experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Microsoft 365 servicesHands-on experience with Azure (VMs, Azure AD, Networking, Storage)Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and Verge.io virtualization platformsKnowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planningStrong security awareness in both on-prem and cloud environmentsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skillsWhy You'll Love Working Here
