Packaging Machine Operator
Packaging Machine Operator - 1st Shift
Starting Pay : $15 / hr
Shift : 9 am - 5 : 30 pm
Location : West Midtown
PrideStaff, a nationally recognized staffing company is working with an innovative bakery in West Midtown.This is a temp to hire position that offers growth opportunity, as well as the opportunity to advance your warehouse skills!
The Packing Associate will participate in setting up and breaking production down lines and machinery and will operate equipment such as printers, conveyors and pallet jacks.
Packaging Machine Operator Responsibilities and Requirements may include :
- Sets up, operates, adjusts, and performs minor maintenance on production and packaging machines.
- Review daily schedule at the start of each shift to determine the days production requirements, set up the correct lines, with the appropriate material, supplies, and machinery
- Be responsible for equipment set-up and change overs and running production lines as needed for various food products quickly and efficiently including line cleaning and testing of assigned machinery
- Ensure product quality by visual inspection, weight checks, counts and other verifications
- Record appropriate information as required
- Follow and comply with all safety protocols as outlined by management and regulations
- Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workspace by having clean, tidy work area and being mindful and observant of surroundings
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements :
- Must have at least 6 months of experience in a production or warehouse setting.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an 8 hour day, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to learn bakery packing methods and standards and food safety regulations
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes
- Possess a "Safety First" attitude.
- Be a team player.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with customers and co-workers.
