Our client, a leading name in the Ammonia production market across the globe, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for their exciting facility near to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
You will oversee a collaborative team that maintains compliance, standards, and asset integrity programs. You will report to the General Manager and work with a team of Engineers including Chemical Process Engineers, Mechanical Reliability Engineers, an Electrical Engineer, Drafter and Documentation.
Job Description
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to corporate and facility EHS policies, following up on action items from investigations and audits.
- EHS Initiatives : Support existing EHS initiatives and propose new ones.
- Safety Performance : Promote incident reduction through engagement and accountability.
- Team Coordination : Manage engineering staff to achieve departmental goals, including training, performance management, and reporting.
- Talent Development : Develop a competent technical team and mentor personnel for supervisory and management succession roles.
- Workforce Planning : Assist in workforce planning and recruitment.
- Budget Management : Administer the annual department budget and participate in facility budgeting.
- Capital Projects : Oversee the site’s capital budget process, including project identification, prioritization, scope development, approval, and reporting.
- Engineering Execution : Build engineering work for capital projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and codes.
- Plant Support : Provide technical expertise to support plant operations, monitor energy efficiency, and propose improvements.
- Record-Keeping : Ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping, supporting the Management of Change process.
- Process Hazard Analyses : Participate in Process Hazard Analyses and routine plant maintenance.
Key requirements :
- Have to be able to Explain a chemical process you have worked with in the past. Successful candidates do not need to be a process engineer, but need to know the process and its making within a similar industry.
- Project experience, be able to explain and provide examples of large projects you have worked on, over $1m ideally in value.
Preferably a project that involves equipment, large assets and what it takes to get that implemented.
- Safety, have to be able to show you have worked on and improved safety culture, or helped or assisted in some form.
- Leadership, someone who has the potential to become a general manager at some point. Strong leadership capabilities, humble but can drive business and hold people accountable and develop.
Bachelor’s Degree : A degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering.
Experience : Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a PSM standard-covered plant, in the petrochemical, refining, or related industry.
Technical and Supervisory Skills : Demonstrated expertise in technical aspects, supervisory roles, and project management.
Regulatory Knowledge : Proficiency in applicable codes and regulations.
