Job Summary
Senior Corporate Accountants analyze and reconcile financial information for various entities and assist with reviewing financial information. They complete adjusting journal entries to the general ledger to ensure the financial statements accurately reflect operations for each business unit. This individual is also responsible for maintaining internal controls for the corporate-related areas they are responsible for. Additionally, Senior Corporate Accountants work closely with the Assistant Controller on the preparation of consolidated financial statements and other financial information used to prepare 10K / 10Q disclosures.
Job Duties
Assists management with addressing issues and / or questions related to the monthly financial results and provides analysis of actual vs. budget variances.
Analyzes and reconciles the activities in certain corporate finance related balance sheet accounts and prepares monthly journal entries and schedules.
Prepares work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits as assigned.
Performs complex, multi-entity tasks that involves research and reconciliation of accounting data.
Reviews financial statements to verify accuracy of transactions; prepares adjusting journal entries for each business unit to ensure financial statements accurately reflect operations.
Assists with coordinating accounting matters within Accounting and other departments.
Assists with the consolidated financial statements including preparing and reviewing schedules to support external financial reporting requirements.
Collaborates with other departments to assist with resolving Accounting-related issues and trains new team members.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field (Required)
5 years in experience with financial statement and general ledger responsibility (Required)
6 months in prior experience in both corporate and public accounting environments (Preferred)
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and practices
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
Excelled computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to use email and internet
Must have a valid driver's license
