Senior Accountant
SUMMARY :
We are partnering with a dynamic, private equity-owned manufacturer that sets new standards in quality and performance for their industry.
This role sits at the Corporate Accounting level and has exposure to a variety of accounting areas. The Senior Accountant will report to a great Director of Corporate Accounting who has been a longtime friend of the firm and takes a mentorship approach.
The position will be involved with the month-end close which includes various reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, corporate consolidation, and intercompany accounting.
They will also participate and support the Director when technical accounting issues arise and learn the complex A / R facility.
The Senior Accountant will produce both the internal and external financial statements and provide the associated financial reporting.
The company is making a push this year to focus their talent on improving processes and procedures. The role will have exposure to upper management who is very approachable and welcoming.
The Senior Accountant will also oversee managing a P&L and budget for one of the ten corporate departments.

DESCRIPTION :
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and proactively communicating findings to management.
- Spearhead the standardization and training initiatives for the Blackline reconciliation tool across all accounting divisions, optimizing efficiency and accuracy in reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze month-end results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to drive business performance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in responding to inquiries from various departments regarding financial statements and general ledger transactions, providing clear explanations and guidance as needed.
- Oversee the intercompany process, including the timely resolution of discrepancies and the implementation of controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance and accounting functions.
- Partner with external auditors to facilitate interim and annual audits, providing support and documentation as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and automate financial processes, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and coach junior members of the finance team, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, proactively assessing the impact on the company and recommending appropriate actions.
EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in general accounting.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Advanced Excel functions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
