Job Responsibilities and Requirements
NextGen Data Architecture
Member of development team for RSLI’s nextgen data architecture, which is in the Oracle’s cloud and has big data and rdbms technologies
Executes analysis and design of technical solutions that enhance nextgen data architecture
Integrate seamlessly with implementation partners to complete conversion into new data architecture
Data Engineering
Develop and support data engineering processes within all layers of the Enterprise Data Platform
Troubleshoot data issues through all layers of the Enterprise Data Platform to understand root cause
Work with data modelers, data engineers and BI analysts to provide complete end-to-end-solutions
Writes technical specifications and determines time estimates
Unit tests development to verify compliance with specifications
Reports status regularly to management
Customer Service
Analyzes business processes in order to determine and develop technical solutions to meet business objectives
Interacts with Business Analysts and staff within business units to determine options for addressing business requirements
Supports the existing architecture, deliverables, new product releases, and plans for additional capacity as needed to support business needs
Assists users with system testing
Rotates with team as on-call contact for production issues where required
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Related Experience
Bachelors Degree (BS / BA) in Information Systems or related field
Big Data Technologies (0+ years)
Scala, Spark SQL
Hortonworks / Cloudera platform or similar
Other Languages (0+ years)
Linux / shell scripting
Introductory knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing processes and tools
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Related Experience
Insurance data experience
Group preferred over P&C, LIMRA
Cloud development experience, preferably Oracle (0+ years)
Compute instances, Object Storage, BDC
Software and languages
Python
Cloudberry
Kafka
OCI Data Flow
Financial data experience
General Ledger, Sub-ledger, Chart of Accounts
IFRS
Annuities data experience
Ability to Travel : Up to 10%
Hiring Range : $65,010.00 - $81,270.00 Salary*The hiring range listed in this posting represents the expected hiring range for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA).
If this role is eligible for remote work, or will report to a different office than the one listed above, the hiring range may differ.
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
