MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be an active duty U.S. Military service member
  • Eligibility for starting would be within final 180 days of service
  • DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Live, Virtual, Constructive, Development, and Evaluation (LVCDE) for conducting cybersecurity T&E
  • Ability to design, deploy, and sanitize large-scale, high-fidelity test and training environments for assessing the impact of malicious threats

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist the Cyber Test Director (CTD) and Cyber Event Lead in planning test environments needed for cybersecurity testing
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement cyber range event environments according to test requirements
  • Ensure cyber range capabilities meet requirements, participating in event planning milestones
  • Utilize automation frameworks such as Ansible / Netmapper / Cyber Range Automation Framework (N / CRAF) for efficient configuration management
  • Design, implement, and validate cyber range event environments, addressing issues such as bandwidth, stress, and loading implications
  • Leverage Terraform / N / CRAF for infrastructure as code (IaC) to provision and manage scalable cyber range resources
  • Monitor, manage, operate, and / or create hardware, software, or networking elements of a cyber range
  • Implement Docker for containerization to facilitate the deployment and scaling of cyber range applications
  • Implement vSphere / vCenter for managing virtualized resources and building private clouds for cyber range operations
  • Leverage Jenkins / Gitlab for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD) of cyber range configurations
  • Monitor, manage, and configure security devices and controls associated with cyber range events
  • Utilize automation tools like Ansible for consistent and automated security configuration
  • Provide support in the planning, execution, and analysis of test and training events
  • Leverage expertise from the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC), Department of Energy, national laboratories, and other sources as necessary and appropriate
