As General Manager at Jean’s, you will oversee all aspects of the venue’s operations : fine dining service upstairs, a nightclub / lounge atmosphere downstairs, vibrant guest experience, sales growth, team leadership, and the local neighborhood brand presence. You’ll ensure that Jean’s is not only a top-restaurant destination but also a nightlife hotspot, delivering consistent excellence across dining, bar, service, events and late-night.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the full team : front-of-house (servers, hosts, bartenders), kitchen managers, back-of-house operations, event staff, late-night club / venue staff.
Set, communicate and achieve sales targets : restaurant covers, dinner service average check, bar revenue, event bookings, late-night traffic.
Oversee the guest experience : from welcome greeting, table service, menu knowledge, bar and cocktails, transition into lounge or club scene. Jean’s is described as having “a lively spot … vibrant and lively … with a club / lounge downstairs.”
Maintain high standards of food, beverage and service quality : ensure menu items (e.g., burger, tagliatelle, lobster roll) meet or exceed guest expectations.
Manage inventory, cost of goods sold (food & beverage), labor cost (service, bar, events, club), operating expenses, and profitability.
Create, oversee and refine event programming and private-booking strategy : Jean’s is often chosen for high-profile dinners, fashion-week pop-ups and nightlife events.
Work on schedule optimization : dining service hours and late-night / club hours (Jean’s has hours into the early morning).
Develop and maintain local market knowledge : understand NoHo / East Village / Lower Manhattan customer demographics, nightlife trends, tourist vs local mix, social-media vibe, influencer / PR opportunities.
Lead visual and ambient experience : ensure the interior ambience, lighting, layout, bar flow, club area, music vibe align with Jean’s brand (not just standard fine dining).
Ensure compliance with licensing (liquor, noise, late-night), safety, health-code, crowd-control regulations, and brand standards.
Collaborate with marketing / PR to drive awareness, social-media campaigns, influencer nights, neighborhood engagement.
Analyze performance data (sales, covers, average check, bar spend, event bookings, guest feedback) to identify trends, optimize offers, and drive continuous improvement.

Exceptional guest-service mindset : comfortable in high-energy, trend-driven hospitality environments, able to maintain high service standards under pressure / late hours.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage with local customers, influencers, nightlife crowd, as well as dining guests.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to oversee both daily operations and special event nights.
Knowledge of POS systems, reservation / event software, analytics tools useful.

Fast-paced hospitality environment with shifting demands (restaurant dinner service, after-party events, club transitions).
You’ll need to be on-your-feet, interacting with guests, supervising staff, walking the floor, checking bar / club area, ensuring transitions between dining to nightlife are seamless.
Occasional need to attend off-hours planning meetings, keep staff morale high in late hours, manage high-energy environment.
