Responsibilities Position is in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital Treats a high volume of admitted patients, with many rooms designated as ED Holding Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 Travelers may work either 36 or 48 hour weekly shifts, with days and nights including weekends as needed Floating to Adult PCU is expected; floating to Pediatric ED is optional and may also float to ED Holding or Trauma depending on staffing needs Uses Cerner for charting No on-call requirements Responsibilities include medication administration, including IV meds, and thorough documentation of clinical findings First-time travelers may be considered if they have at least 2 years of Level I Trauma experience Scrub color is black and not provided Required to work weekends as needed, with weekend days considered Saturday and Sunday, and weekend nights Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Holiday time off is limited to one holiday bundle; additional or extended time off must be approved Personal transportation is required for assignments at the Metropolitan Detention Center Travelers must complete compliance requirements and drug screening prior to start Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a break is required Previous perm staff may return as travelers if separated for 12 months or more Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license (can be pending at time of consideration) Minimum 2 years RN experience required, Level I Trauma experience preferred and strongly preferred for those without prior travel experience Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be obtained before consideration; NIHSS may be obtained before compliance due date) COVID vaccine required unless exempted with proper documentation No RQI certifications accepted Driver's License or written transportation plan required No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633494.
