Description
The mission of the Youth Specialist is "Helping Children and Families to be Victors."
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and guide clients in a variety of daily activities, while arranging and controlling the physical surroundings in order to provide a healthy and safe environment
- Recognize and manage individual treatment plans for clients with dignity and respect
- Read all documented charts and / or logbooks at start of the shift and maintain documentation throughout the shift
- Complete and submit all logs, reports, documentation, and assigned projects by end of shift
- Participate / attend and complete all required contractual, licensing, and agency training successfully
- Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law
- Attend all required meetings
- Other duties, as assigned
USUAL TIME INVOLVEMENT
Full or Part Time : This is a non-exempt position.
REPORTS TO
Youth Specialist Supervisor determined by designated shift.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required90-DAY REQUIREMENTS
Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement for basic core skillsCompletion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) seminar provided by the agency, with ability to apply and perform CPI techniquesAmerican Red Cross CPR and First Aid CertificationValid Michigan driver and chauffeur license or ability to obtain chauffeur license
