Corporate Controller

Spring-Green Enterprises parent company of two national franchise brands, Pet Butler and Spring-Green as well as a portfolio of company owned franchises is seeking a full-time Corporate Controller based out of Naperville, IL .

Position Summary : Responsible for managing the activities within the accounting department for all Spring-Green Enterprise subsidiaries by applying their professional knowledge and skills in the preparation and presentation of financial and other decision-oriented information to assist senior management in the formulation of policies and planning decisions.

Responsible for managing accounting subordinates ensuring accurate and timely reporting in all areas of accounting, including, but not limited to, General Ledger, inter-company activities, A / R, royalties, A / P and payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management / reconciliation, financial reporting, cash flow forecasts, and re-projections.

Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP. Coordinate work relating to external audits of the company’s financial records.

Responsible for assisting the CFO with the annual budgeting process covering multiple SGE companies. Ensures company cash is properly utilized by maintaining cash control records, making short-term investments, and drawing or paying down short-term loans.

Responsible for online banking activity, including initiating and submitting ACH payments, running NSF reports, and analysis statements.

Administer corporate credit card process and procedures, including new card enrollment, closing card accounts, downloading credit card statements, and issuing payments.

Supervisory Responsibilities The Corporate Controller directly supervises the Accountant, Payroll Specialist, Accounts Payable Clerk and the Accounts Receivable Representative.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting . Minimum five+ years’ experience in accounting and / or finance, with full cycle accounting experience as well as experience managing accounting employees.

Payroll processing experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPA preferred, but not required. Valid driver’s license required with insurable driving record.
