The BSN SPORTS Indianapolis team is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Indianapolis, IN for the 2nd Shift, M-F 3 : 00pm - 11 : 30pm

HOW YOU-LL MAKE AN IMPACT :

As a Maintenance Technician in a decoration and warehouse environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.

Leveraging your expertise, you will lead maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of production and warehouse operations.

As a team member, here’s what you’ll do :

  • Perform preventive maintenance and conduct inspections on a wide range of manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, and machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance.
  • Support facility maintenance, including building repairs, plumbing, lighting, and other infrastructure components.
  • Implement and optimize preventive maintenance schedules for the facility to ensure a safe and well-maintained working environment.
  • Lead the troubleshooting efforts for equipment and system malfunctions, employing advanced diagnostic techniques.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, production staff, and other departments to prioritize and address maintenance needs efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance metrics.
  • Generate reports on equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and recommended improvements for management review.
  • Support the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components and optimizing inventory levels to reduce downtime.
  • Work with procurement to identify and source necessary parts and materials.
  • Enforce and adhere to safety protocols and regulations, actively promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

  • Learn tasks quickly, accuracy driven, personable, team oriented, and punctual with excellence in attendance.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide numbers.

PEAK SEASON (July-December) REQUIREMENTS :

  • Shift hours Monday through Friday; 4am-2 : 30pm
  • Mandatory overtime which may include some Saturdays and Sundays.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance roles within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision, or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Read and comprehend documents, instructions, and correspondence in English to perform job duties efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders in spoken English, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Participate in meetings, discussions, and presentations requiring proficient spoken English skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing valuable insights and feedback in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Repetitive movement of the body is required on a regular basis.

The position requires lifting of no less than 15-50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
