The Role : Finance & Accounting Manager (Controller Track)
Coalmarch is looking for a rising finance professional who's ready to take the next step-someone who can combine accounting precision with strategic curiosity. You'll own the numbers that keep the business grounded today while helping shape the insights that drive where we go next. You'll own our accounting infrastructure, establish the processes and discipline that drive confidence, and evolve into a finance partner who influences decisions, strategy, and valuation.
This is a hands-on role today, with a direct path toward VP Finance responsibilities as we grow.
What You'll Do
Build the foundation
- Own all accounting functions : GL, AP / AR, payroll, accruals, and reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close; deliver accurate, timely financial packages
- Maintain compliance and internal controls in partnership with our CPA firm and Rippling (ASO)
- Manage client billing, vendor payments, and cash flow visibility
Shape the future
Create scalable systems and dashboards that inform leadership decisionsDevelop forecasting and budgeting models that tie to EBITDA and margin targetsPartner with the CEO and leadership team on pricing strategy, automation ROI, and resource planningPrepare investor-ready materials and board reportsBuild and eventually lead a finance team as we scaleWhat We're Looking For
Raleigh-area basedBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred)5-8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in a service-based or SaaS environmentA strong command of GAAP, cash flow management, and internal controlsHands-on familiarity with accounting systems and close processes-you know what "clean books" really meansCuriosity about FP&A, valuation, M&A, and business growth mechanics-not just complianceGrit, humility, and hunger-someone who's ready to punch above their title and build something lastingBonus points for :
Experience in an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) environmentA Master's degree (MBA or MS in Finance / Accounting) or working on completionWhat's In It For You
