NSCS is looking for a Family Partner to join our Children's After School Program (CASP). The Children’s After School Program is a therapeutic program for youth ages 7-13. The program provides milieu treatment including behavior management / modification and facilitation of therapeutic groups. The Family Partner is a paraprofessional that reports to the Program Manager.
This position is designed for someone with lived experience as a parent or direct caregiver of a youth in their family with significant social, emotional, behavioral health, medical or trauma-related needs.
This position is part-time 20 hours per week. Bilingual Spanish required ($2,500 language differential)
What you’ll do :
- Supervise children during program activities
- Intervene during a crisis using appropriate techniques including WELLE restraint.
- Drive program van and accompany other staff during ride.
- Complete daily documentation of children’s progress in the milieu.
- Perform duties as a Family Partner including maintaining contact with caregivers and conduct outreach to their families in their homes and communities as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by program manager.What you’ll need :
- Education
Associates degree in a human service field and one year of related experience with target population OR
High School diploma / GED and a minimum of two years relevant experience.Experience :Experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs (preferably mental health needs).
