Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Health and Safety is responsible for providing health and safety technical guidance, leadership and support to LNG Operating assets, Pipeline Operations, and the Project Development Division to ensure programs and activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, permits, company policies and procedures.
The Manager, Health and Safety will provide leadership to drive improvements with Cheniere's Safety Culture and actively support Four Key Strategic Objectives :
In promoting and championing these objectives, the Manager, Health and Safety will work to build and implement Key Strategic Actions that will drive sustained engagement and continual improvement of the company Mission to responsibly deliver a reliable, competitive and integrated source of LNG in a safe and rewarding work environment.
In support of Inspiring, Challenging and Empowering the Health and Safety Team, this role will work collaboratively work with their team to develop and implement individual development plans and achievable goals that align with the organization's key strategic objectives, ensure ongoing organizational objectives are achieved and provide opportunity is available for personnel to grow and develop.
KNOWLEDGE
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Manager, Health and Safety will primarily be responsible for design, implementation oversight, and continuous improvement of enterprise health and safety management systems and programs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Education, Training and Certifications : Bachelor's degree in health & safety or other science related discipline. Additional education or professional certification, such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or master's degree in a health and safety or other similar discipline is valuable. Maintain valid certifications and training required to support job functions as applicable.
Experience : Approximately ten or more (10+) years in health and safety focused roles with demonstrated increasing responsibility of people teams and health and safety programs. Results driven focus on achieving business valued deliverables and developing high performing teams in an LNG, hydrocarbon refining or petrochemical infrastructure facility(ies) is required. Involvement in emergency response teams and process safety management systems is valued.

Demonstrate H&S competency and confident decision making while remaining humble and serving as a leader of corporate health and safety professionals representing Cheniere at an enterprise level.
Hardworking, self-starter that possess a bias for action with a focus on delivering results through collaboration and teamwork.
Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to appropriately convey complex information to various levels throughout the organization.
Excellent listening skills and ability to interpret needs from the organization and produce value through action.
Able to organize and manage multiple projects, activities and deliverables with consistent and timely completion through the use of innovative problem solving and analytical skills
Exceptional written skills capable of simplifying complex regulatory and / or technical requirements so they can be easily understood by the end user (plant operator, health and safety practitioner).
Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships by building credibility through the demonstration of delivering quality results which meet the needs of the organization.
Demonstrate nimbleness, adaptability and the capability to develop and successfully implement new or revised programs, systems, and / or processes.
Ability to conduct assurance activities associated with health and safety management systems with a practical approach to findings, observations, and recommendations.
Demonstrative engaged leadership style requiring the ability to actively listen, coach, empathetically understand and provide competent, confident direction to health and safety team and various stakeholders throughout the company.
Exceptional facilitation capability to manage strong, unique and diverse opinions and create space for collaborative dialogue which results in aligned path forward.
Strong regulatory interpretation and practical risk-based application skills.
Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing.
DIRECT REPORTS
1+ and may include oversight of 3rd party contractor personnel and / or contingent workers.
FREEDOM TO ACT
The Manager, Health and Safety has a high degree of aptitude in their field and requires minimal supervision. This position will be empowered to recommend corrective actions or changes as needed and will document actions that may have violated company policy or laws and regulations pursuant to facility regulatory requirements, procedures, permits, or authorizations.
