Advocacy Director

A company is looking for an Advocacy Director to lead efforts in building a coalition-driven movement for the sustainability of the Great Lakes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage campaign structures and strategies to advance regional and state-level policy agendas

Build and maintain coalitions with stakeholders to foster policy change and engagement

Provide strategic counsel to organizational leadership on policy opportunities and campaign execution

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree (advanced degree preferred) and 10+ years of experience in public campaigns, policy advocacy, or related fields

Deep expertise in executing coalition-driven public campaigns, preferably in the Great Lakes or water sector

Strong relationships with influential leaders and stakeholders in the Great Lakes region

Experience managing campaign teams and working collaboratively with diverse groups

Solid understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes
