Estate Planning Paralegal - State of Florida - 1099 FullyRemote

This is a remote position.

This position isa virtual contract 1099 position that is open to Paralegals in theUnited States only. Please do not apply if you are not living inthe United States as your resume will not be considered.

This position is a virtual contract 1099position. The ideal candidate will have experience in the areas of1) Estate Planning.

Candidates must have experience with FloridaState Law and Procedure. Florida resident preferred but notrequired if proof of Floridabased experience can be shown.

Mustreside in the Eastern (EST) Time Zone.

Candidates should be proficient in thedrafting collection and organization of documents forms andinformation from various cases at the firm meeting with andassisting clients via phone Zoom or Google Meet obtaining necessaryrecords & reports drafting pleadings and discoverycalendaring deadlines on a firm calendar etc.

Candidates shouldfeel comfortable relaying messages between various groups andkeeping all documents important to the cases organized in an onlinedatabase.

The perfect candidates are proactivedetailedoriented team players with the ability to work wellindependently and maintain a high level of attention to all detailsand timeliness of deadlines.

Hours andCompensation

Hours : Up to 20hours per week with a potential for more hours in thefuture.

Compensation : Compensation is$30 per hour. Payroll is bimonthly and this is a 1099 contractposition.

Responsibilities

Draft estateplanning documents obtain documents and records from clients andstate and local agencies be familiar with all aspects of estateplanning lawand procedure in the State of Florida

Review and edit legal documents pertaining to estateplanning lawand procedure in the State of Florida

EFiling propounding and answeringdiscovery

Calendaring deadlinesscheduling of hearings depositions etc.

Meeting with clients via phone or zoom whennecessary

Create and maintainelectronic case files

Facilitate themeeting of attorney deadlines by keeping organized schedules andproviding timely reminders

Conduct legalresearch

Communication with clientsattorneys opposing counsels judicial officesetc.

Qualifications

Experience as alegal assistant or paralegal in the above listed areas for 5years

Status must be a fulltimefreelancer; must not have prior commitments as a W2employee

Daytime availability MondayFriday in the time zone that the clientoperates

Bachelors degree or Paralegalcertificate

8 GB or more RAM with strongpreference for 16 GB; SSD preferred especially if RAM is on thelower end preferred

Windows 10 Proor 11 Pro preferred
