The Technician / Technologist Customer Service Rep will be responsible for communicating with our Hospital clientele, answering incoming calls, providing requested information, researching and resolving problems, finding sources for send-out testing, working with minor interface issues, and working closely with other departments in the laboratory.
Prior technical laboratory experience strongly preferred and must be available to rotate weekends / holidays and evenings / nights as required.
This is a temporary remote / work from home position during the pandemic (subject to change) and will require residence in the Houston, TX area upon start date.
Schedule : Monday to Friday (9 : 30am - 6 : 30pm CST)
Requirements :
- Requires an Associate Degree in Medial Lab Technology or Equivalent; OR BA / BS degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry or related life science
- Prior experience as an MLT or MT strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology used in a clinical setting strongly preferred
- Experience working in a contact center / call center environment is preferred
- Prior healthcare industry, such as a physician's office or a hospital highly is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond
- Must be courteous with strong customer service orientation
- Excellent multitasking abilities required
- Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
