Job description

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and serving as the first point of contact for students / families, school and district staff on the campus. The Admin Assistant is responsible for coordinating the activities of the school office, under the direction of the Principal, and leading and training other office personnel. The position requires independent exercise of judgement, discretion and the appropriate level of confidentiality in dealing with the public, students / families, school / District employees, and Board members in accordance with District and School policy and procedure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads by example in adherence and knowledge of the CSAL, Inc. and school's Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Follows through on duties and projects assigned.
  • Demonstrates exemplary customer service and professional phone etiquette.
  • Follows established processes for handling student and staff records and school financial records.
  • Maintains the schedule of appointments for school leadership and plans for meetings, conferences, interviews and other activities.
  • Prepares memos, presentations and other documents at direction of the Principal.
  • Performs office routines and practices such as maintaining an appropriate filing system, sorting mail, operating the copy machine, serving as receptionist as needed.
  • Prepares processes and maintains oversight of purchase orders.
  • Acts as an information resource for other office personnel, faculty and staff in the building.
  • Has the ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments with or without direction.
  • Is extremely organized, process driven, and detail oriented.
  • MAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  • Excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents : is courteous, professional, and helpful.
  • Demonstrates high level of customer service skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills : Oral, Written, and Interpersonal.
  • Proactive and takes initiative. Thinks creatively. Drives projects to completion.
  • Works with large amounts of data, researches and interprets records, detects errors, and makes the necessary corrections.
  • Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent. (Required)
  • Some college preferred
  • One to two years of office experience with a wide variety of related responsibilities.
  • Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
  • Comfortable working in learning environment as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and email communications.
  • Work Environment

  • Usual office working conditions.
  • May be noisy during high traffic times.
  • Temperatures may change from very hot to very cold depending on the location of work and the weather.
