LCRA is looking for an individual with a passion for service and excellence to join a team that performs an essential role in the reliability of the Texas electric grid. On the Transmission System Controls team you will support technicians, processes, and systems that directly impact the Texans we serve. You will provide services such as technical expertise, computer troubleshooting, process design, compliance support, and hardware / software management.
Responsibilities
- Directly administer Information Technology / Operational Technology (IT / OT) support and maintenance for System Controls technicians and other TSC personnel.
- Test software / hardware / applications in beta and production environments to facilitate process improvement as technology advances.
- Provide enhanced department controls and oversight of maintenance operations in compliance with NERC standards for Protective Relaying (PRC) and Cyber Assets (CIP).
- Develop and run queries and reporting for users and management.
- Document, verify, monitor, and create reports related to compliance with NERC reliability standards, ERCOT protocols and operating guides.
- Monitor work orders pertaining to NERC regulatory requirements for PRC and CIP.
- Create and oversee a proactive compliance monitoring process to ensure that activities required by the reliability standards are performed and properly documented in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot application and hardware issues and make configuration changes as required to ensure correct operation.
- Perform administration of application servers, including backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, tuning, and documentation to ensure systems are available for customers.
- Manage departmental SharePoint site providing and updating the status of compliance related activities.
- Provide written responses and data analysis and collection activities at the request of Texas RE, NERC and / or ERCOT.
- Implement automation applications for process improvements and data visualization.
Qualifications
Twelve or more years' experience in the construction and / or maintenance of power substation protection, SCADA, diagnostic metering, monitoring and / or control systems, or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in computer science, information technology, electronics, electrical power engineering, industrial maintenance, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.Advanced IT / OT knowledge / experienceFamiliarity with NERC and / or ERCOT processesExperience in electric substations or other utility experienceCompensation and Benefits
Competitive Pay Range : $118,400 - $144,700
