NextEra Energy Retail is seeking a Senior Accountant to join as part of the Gexa Accounting team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and take ownership of various projects, adding value through critical thinking and inter-personal skills with knowledge of either the retail gas or power industry. Specific Responsibilities include :

• Prepare month end journal entries and supporting documentation (revenues, cost of goods sold, receivables, prepaids, deposits, accrued interest, etc.)
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare month end close results file.
• Compile and analyze financial information for regulatory reporting
• Analyze costs by responsibility center and communicate monthly with business owners
