Manufacturing Buyer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Buyer to join our team full-time in Andover, MA.

Responsibilities :

• Securing and analyzing quotations, negotiating prices and terms with suppliers (local and offshore), and recommending suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and overall competitiveness.
• Continuously paying close attention to market prices and trends related to the supply chain.
• Monitoring and determining suppliers’ capabilities, price increases / fluctuations and communicating changes as necessary.
• Placing Purchase Orders (POs), reviewing open POs and Item Shortages; expediting as needed.
• Reviewing reorder points for inventory stock levels.
• Working closely with accounting and receiving departments to resolve purchase order discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve best results in resolving quality issues and observing applicable updates to quality standards and certifications.
• Coordinating quality matters and engineering changes between engineering and procurement teams.
• Maintaining non-inventory and engineering purchase requisitions on an as-needed basis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes to boost procurement efficiency.

Position Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of buying and planning experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in the electronics industry.
• Working knowledge of MRP.
• Project management experience.
• Proficiency in MS Excel required (i.e., advanced formulas and pivot table).
• Strong analytical / critical thinking skills and strong communication / interpersonal skills.
• ISM Supply Management or related certification a plus.
• Familiarity with offshore procurement and engineering purchasing a plus.
