Join our renowned Neuro-Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Divisions at the Stein Eye Institute in Westwood , where you'll provide expert orthoptic care for both adults and children w hile playing a prominent role in education . We are looking for a professional who is passionate aboutdelivering exceptional care and eager to contribute to our education and training programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Evaluation of vision and detection / monitoring of amblyopia in children and adults.
Assessment and non-surgical management of ocular motility and strabismus disorders using optical correction and orthoptic exercises.
Evaluation and treatment of binocular sensory function, including stereopsis.
Routine neuro-ophthalmic testing such as visual fields and OCT, along with taking preliminary histories and preparing patients for medical review in an extended role capacity.
Playing a prominent role in teaching, supervising orthoptic students, medical trainees, and fellows across multiple disciplines.
Salary Range : $45.48-59.61 Hourly
Qualifications
Required :
Completion of an orthoptic training program.
Possession of certification by the American Association of Certified Orthoptists, or equivalent national certification if trained internationally.
Experience in the measurement of strabismus in children and adults.
Experience in working with visual problems of young children.
Experience in treatment of amblyopia.
Verbal communication skills to clearly convey information to patients, students, faculty & staff.
Preferred :
Experience of coordinating teaching for orthoptics and other students and trainees.
Experience of supporting departmental, cross professional education.
