Internship - Summer 2024
The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) Internship Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to join our mission to impact the lives of girls in the Eastern Missouri region.
We are excited to offer a variety of internship opportunities that will promote the GSEM mission while strengthening our collaborative relationship with key stakeholders through offering this unique internship program.
Participants in the GSEM Internship Program will learn more about our non-profit organizational structure while gaining critical hands-on work experience.
Through supporting a specific department applicable to their field of study, performing a variety of functions, or tasks in multiple departments across the organization;
interns will obtain relevant skills to support their individual professional growth and development.
Internship opportunities include :
Accounting As an Accounting Intern, you will work directly with our Finance & Administration staff who are responsible for maintaining order and transparency for the Council’s finances.
You will support the team with various accounting projects and tasks, including the preparation of financial statements and reports, to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the Council fully comprehend its financial state.
Community Engagement As a Community Engagement Intern, you will work directly with our Community Engagement staff who oversees all facets of the volunteer experience and recruitment of girls and adults.
You will assist the team in representing and extending Girl Scouting in the community through networking, collaborative efforts, and presentations, to ensure the Girl Scout program is accessible to all girls, across all demographic areas.
Community Outreach As a Community Outreach Intern, you will work directly with our Community Outreach staff who are responsible for providing programs to educate students in social emotional learning.
You will assist the team with facilitating interactive programming to promote a healthy lifestyle and participate in outdoor learning.
Programming will be delivered in school or community settings across Eastern Missouri.
Community Troop As a Community Troop Intern, you will work directly with our Community Troop staff who ensures the Girl Scout program is accessible and delivered throughout Eastern Missouri, as well as across demographic groups.
You will assist the team in representing and extending Girl Scouting in the community through programming and event planning.
Data Quality As a Data Quality Intern, you will work directly with our Data & Outcomes team who oversees the extraction, analysis, and reporting of data for Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri to both internal and external audiences.
You will assist the team in a full range of data functions including data entry and research.
- Engagement & Belonging (DEIB) Intern As an Engagement & Belonging Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the E&B team with programs and projects that support the Council’s Engagement & Belonging initiatives.
- You will provide assistance for the creation and distribution of E&B communications; programming and initiatives like Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Restorative Practices;
and the planning and execution of accessibility services, including Camp Claire Bear, the Council's week-long day camp for Girl Scouts ages 5-18 on the autism spectrum.
Executive / Nonprofit Management Intern As an Executive / Nonprofit Management Intern, you will assist the Executive Office with extraction, analysis, and reporting of school data for the Council to both internal and external audiences;
organizing and digitizing historical documents; and provide support to the Executive Assistant and CEO in Council-related projects.
Human Resources As a Human Resources Intern, you will work directly with our Human Resources staff who oversees all facets of recruitment and retention, onboarding, employee development, and customer service.
You will assist the team in a full range of human resources functions including employee systems and support for human resources initiatives.
- Graphic Services As a Graphic Services Intern, you will work directly with our Marketing & Communications staff who are responsible for cultivating Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s brand and image through comprehensive communications efforts including internal and external promotion.
- Photography / Videography and Graphic Services As a Photography / Videography and Graphic Services Intern, you will work directly with our Marketing & Communications staff who are responsible for cultivating Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s brand and image through comprehensive communications efforts including internal and external promotion.
- Programs and Events As a Programs and Events Intern, you will work directly with our Programs and Partnerships staff who are responsible for implementing programs for the Girl Scout internal audience to enhance the Girl Scout experience, as well as partnering with outside organizations to coordinate large-scale events.
- Retail Sales & Services As a Retail Sales & Services Associate Intern, you will work directly with our Retail Sales & Services staff who are responsible for the operations and marketing of retail sales and services including the Girl Scout Shop and special sales events.
- Robotics Through the Robotics Internship, individuals will gain skills in facilitating youth programs, volunteer training and management, communication and event management.
They will also be introduced to the FIRST Robotics program and organization through training and program materials.
