Job Summary : In collaboration with the Director of Enrollment, the Recruitment & Marketing Specialist (RMS) plays a key role in enhancing University of the West’s visibility, attracting prospective students, and promoting the university as a destination for academic and personal growth. This position combines expertise in institutional branding, digital marketing, content creation, and recruitment strategies to deliver a compelling message about the University of the West’s mission, values, and opportunities. The RMS is a tech-savvy digital native who combines the qualities of a story teller, people person, and data thinker.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Institutional Branding & Outreach
- Develop and maintain a strong and appealing university brand to position UWest as a desirable place to learn, grow, and succeed.
- Promote the university’s academic programs, culture, and values through engaging campaigns and outreach efforts.
Content Creation & Marketing
Create and distribute engaging content (blog posts, videos, newsletters, social media updates) across multiple platforms to attract and engage prospective students.Maintain consistent messaging aligned with UWest’s values and brand identity.Candidate (Student) Experience
Optimize the student recruitment journey, ensuring a positive and engaging experience from initial inquiry to enrollment.Identify and develop / manage new and existing recruitment markets and partners (locations, target audiences)Digital Marketing & Recruitment Campaigns
Design and execute digital campaigns using social media, email, and university websites to increase inquiries and applications.Leverage paid and organic marketing strategies to enhance reach and engagement.Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect and analyze data from marketing and recruitment campaigns to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Generate reports to inform leadership and adjust strategies to meet enrollment targets.Collaboration & Partnerships
Work closely with enrollment, admissions, academic departments, and community partners to align efforts with enrollment goals.Represent the university at recruitment events, college fairs, and community programs as needed.Technology & Tools
Utilize marketing automation tools, CRM systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and recruitment platforms to streamline communication and processes.Ensure accurate data management and workflow efficiency.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (master’s preferred).Minimum 2–3 years of experience in recruitment marketing, digital marketing, or related field (higher education experience a plus).Demonstrated success in creating impactful marketing campaigns and managing recruitment pipelines.Bilingual in spoken and written Chinese (bonus payment)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Marketing & Branding : Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing trends, and employer branding strategies.Digital Proficiency : Deep understanding of social media, digital trends, and ability to turn ideas into creative campaignsData & Analytics : Ability to interpret campaign metrics and apply insights to optimize strategies. Qualities of a data thinker who is curious about numbers and can translate campaign metrics into actionable insights.Communication & Collaboration : Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to engage candidates and internal teams. Qualities of a people person who enjoys connecting with students, answering questions, and making the student journey exciting and positive.Project Management : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Creativity : Innovative thinker with a flair for content creation, storytelling, and problem-solving. Ability to craft messages that connect with students and inspire them to take action.Technology Proficiency : Comfortable using social media management platforms, CRM systems, and marketing tools.Higher Education Experience (preferred) : Familiarity with student recruitment, admissions, or higher education marketing is strongly desirable.
