Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and skilled at managing financial records and reporting. Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees, including certified and prevailing wage filings. You will also need to record and analyze financial data to prepare accurate entries for general ledger accounts and document business transactions. Additionally, you will be responsible for reconciling sub-ledger accounts and ensuring proper alignment with the general ledger. Reviewing and verifying contracts, orders, and vouchers, preparing substantiating reports for each transaction, monitoring and managing the preparation of Time & Material and organizational invoices, identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies in financial records and reports, assisting in monthly closing activities and generating comprehensive financial statements, conducting detailed account analysis as requested by management, collaborating with the accounting team to enhance departmental efficiency and streamline processes, and supporting year-end closing activities and contributing to the implementation of internal financial controls.

The ideal Senior Accountant will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. Other requirements for the Senior Accountant role include and are not limited to : 4+ years of accounting experience, payroll experience (100+), AIA Billing, and construction industry experience preferred. PowerTools software or ViewPoint experience is also required.
