Lead Housekeeper, URJ Camp Newman — Union for Reform Judaism.
Location : Camp Newman (4088 Porter Creek Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404). Employment Type : Full Time, Benefits Eligible, ADMIN, Non-Exempt.
The Role
Lead Housekeeper to oversee the cleaning and maintenance of residential cabins, common areas, restrooms, dining facilities, and staff accommodations at Camp Newman and the year-round retreat center. This role supervises a team of housekeepers, manages cleaning supplies, and collaborates across departments to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the property.
What You Will Do
- Oversee cleaning and sanitation of accommodations, common areas, and staff facilities year-round, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas, such as restrooms and dining facilities.
- Assist with seasonal deep cleaning and address emergency cleaning tasks promptly.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and function.
- Coordinate event and retreat setups, ensuring cleanliness and organization according to specific requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, reporting any hazards or concerns.
- Respond to emergency cleaning tasks, including spills, accidents, and urgent repairs, ensuring quick resolution.
- Keep records of cleaning schedules, supply orders, and maintenance issues requiring attention.
Supervision & Team Management
Lead, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, assigning daily tasks and ensuring quality control through regular inspections.Conduct regular inspections of all facilities, promptly addressing any cleanliness issues or concerns.Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication.Interact professionally with guests, campers, and staff, ensuring satisfaction with cleanliness and overall facility upkeep.Who You Are
