Insurance Claims Manager

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Claims Manager position requires an understanding of the USTIF eligibility requirements, information that must be collected for claim approval, as well as procedures for challenging denial of coverage. Work involves managing internal claim evaluators, outside law firms, and oversight of claim administration provided by a consulting firm. USTIF's stakeholders include board members, distributors, tank owners, tank operators, certified tank individuals, the PA Department of Environmental Protection, and geologists. This position serves as the USTIF's area expert on claims handling procedures, develops and recommends claims handling policies, provides procedural interpretation of applicable regulations, and implements appropriate claim programs and projects. You will be expected to ensure all actions relating to claims handling are conducted in a timely and professional manner. You will have the opportunity to supervise Investigators / Claims Evaluators, support staff and contractors of the USTIF.

Other duties to include but not limited to :

• Overseeing the development and maintenance of a claims and procedures manual
• Overseeing the competitive bidding activities undertaken by the TPA and USTIF personnel
• Coordinating research, both internally and with outside counsel and experts
• Advising the Bureau Director of policy or precedent setting issues as appropriate
