About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Patient Advocacy and Engagement to play a pivotal role in the transformation of the lives of patients with rare and ultra-rare, genetically defined diseases. This senior leader will be a trusted partner to both patient communities and the executive team, ensuring that the patient perspective is deeply embedded in all aspects of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing a global patient advocacy strategy that evolves with the company's growth, from clinical stage to fully integrated commercial biotech. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary global interface with rare disease communities, leading and developing the patient advocacy team, and championing the patient voice in clinical development, trial design, access, and commercialization strategies.
Applicants for the Vice President of Patient Advocacy and Engagement position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in patient advocacy leadership, with a focus on rare and / or ultra-rare disease communities. A strong background in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals is essential, with a proven ability to influence both clinical development and commercial strategies. The role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills, as well as a strong understanding of the end-to-end drug development and commercialization process. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and be willing to travel globally.
