Executive Assistant
The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York City's government. Previously, Mayor Adams has served the people of New York City as an NYPD officer, state senator, and Brooklyn borough president. The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Communications, overseen by Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy, coordinates communications for the whole of city government, breaking down siloes between agencies and ensuring that city agencies speak with a unified message to New Yorkers.
The Problems You'll Solve
This role will help build out the core components of the deputy mayor for communications' new office by managing the team's workflow, ensuring the operational efficiency of the office, supporting the day-to-day operations of the office, providing input on long-term strategic initiatives, and developing communications materials to advance administration priorities.
About You
You have demonstrated an understanding of and experience with New York City government operations. You have administrative skills. You have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. You have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is imperative.
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and / or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
