Executive Assistant
The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) puts children first by helping both parents provide for the economic and social well-being, health, and stability of their children. OCSS serves parents and guardians, regardless of income and immigration status. The program helps tens of thousands of children every year by bringing more income into the home. OCSS collects more than $700 million a year on their behalf. Under direction of the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Borough Offices (BO) & Court Services (CS), with considerable latitude for independent action or decision; the Principal Administrative Associate II, functions as the Executive Assistant for the Intake program of the OCSS. S / he is responsible for supporting the Executive team which oversees 10 field offices 4 Borough Offices (BO), 5 Family Court Support Services offices (FCSS) and DSS Court Services (DSS CS)). The BOs are the point of entry into the child support system for custodial parents (CPs) who applied for or receive cash assistance. The FCSS offices are responsible for providing support services to non-cash assistance clients in the five boroughs, including providing support and guidance to noncustodial parents (NCPs) that require assistance with their cases. DSS CS is responsible for processing court-related actions on cash assistance and Medicaid cases received from the BOs and OCSS's Enforcement division.
Job Description
The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate II to function as an Executive Assistant who will :
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical / administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical / administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or 2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical / administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical / administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above; 4. Education and / or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical / administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
